The first competitive outing of 2025 for the USKA Fight Team seen 14 of our fighters hit the road to travel to the White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre in Oxford to compete in the ICO English Championships.
This event would be the first leg of a 4 Nations tournament series that will continue in Wales, Scotland and finish in Ireland at the end of the year.
Lead by coaches Qasim Beg and Mushy Younis the contingent of Rayaan Ellahi, Amad Azim, Taiya Lovelock, Krystal Durham, Ollie Cooke, Elijah Brown, Haidar Khan, Julia Glowacz, Zain Amer, Isa Khan, Kaifah Imran, Mohammed Hamza, Ateeq Al Rehman and Jay Hussain competed in Boxing, Full Contact, K-1, Ring Continuous, Kick Light, K-1 Light and Mat Light disciplines of competition.
After a tough and extreamly long 12 hour day of competing we finished with an impressive medal tally of 40 medals including 24 Gold's, 12 Silver's and 4 Bronzes with 5 of our Athletes finishing in the Top Ten competitors of the day.
On reflection we were happy enough with the results and performances but will expect level up in preparation and training before the next leg of the series in Wales in April to translate a few more of those Silver and Bronzes into Golds.
Thank you to the ICO for a great day of competition, to our amazing coaches for all their hard work in getting our fighters battle ready, all the spectators that made the trip to support and finally a big well done to all of our fighters that put it on the line today.
We are super proud of each and every one of you.
