04-08-24 - WKU Mat Sports Open Success for USKA Fight Team!

The USKA Fight Factory had a team of fighters out today at the WKU Mat Sports Open at the North Solihull Sports Centre in Birmingham.
The team of 9 fighters including Rayaan Ellahi, Amad Azim, Taiya Lovelock, Elijah Brown, Haidar Khan, Krystal Durham, Zain Amer, Isa Khan and Mohammed Hamza competed in Light Contact and Kick Light Categories under the watchful eye of coaches Qasim Beg and Mushy Younis.
Despite some categories being combined leaving us with some really big age and weight splits and having to contend with fighting our own fighters in the finals we managed to finish the day with a more than respectable 16 medals consisting of 11 Golds and 5 Silvers.
Some valuable fight time was earned and the team have things to bring back to the gym to work on next week to make even more improvements next time out which is what it is all about.
Well done to everyone that stepped on the mats today, you all did great!
