11-06-23 - USKA Top the table at the 2023 ICO British Championships!

We had an amazing, long, hot but most of all enjoyable day today at the Chase Leisure Centre in Cannock at the ICO 2023 British Championships and World Championship qualifying event.
The Championships was the biggest in the Organisations history with over 560 competitors in over 1100 starts.
For USKA a team of 13 competitors including Zain Amer, Elijah Brown, Dawid Gizewski, Julia Glowacz, Nikita Raubiska, Ehsaan Mahmood, Maryam Sarfraz, Kaifah Imran, Muzaker Rehman,  Idrees, Yusuf, Aadam Ali, Ateeq Al Rehman and Mohammed Usman lead by coaches Qasim Beg, Sean Quinn and Mushy Younis took part in Ring Continuous, Mat Light, Martial Box Light, K-1 Light and Low kick light categories against some really tough hungry competitors from the length and breadth of the UK.
The standard at this years championships was very high indeed and the incredibly high temperature in the sports hall made this an even tougher challenge for all it's competitors.
Following over 10 hours of non stop fighting we topped the table as the highest achieving club out of 89 with a outstanding 22 Golds, 13 Silvers and 5 Bronzes.
As this was a qualifying event for the ICO World Championships that will be held in Hull in October all of our fighters have on paper earned their place for consideration for the squad and will be working hard to secure their position over the next month through hard training and open tournament successes.
