14-05-22 - Ateeq Al-Rehman and Shakeel Hussain do us proud Boxing on Fightmania 12!

Two USKA Fighters were in action this evening in Boxing bouts at the Regency Banqueting Suite in Birmingham as part of the Fightmania 12 event.
First into the ring we saw Shakeel 'Showtime' Hussain take on the experienced and battle hardened Tommy Murray in a bout made at 60kg.
The flamboyant Shakeel out moved and outscored Murray early and stayed disciplined not making any silly mistakes.
Shak downed his opponent with a body shot at the end of the first round and in the second round he planted his feet more trapping his man in the corner and flooring him with a combination of body and head shots.
Shakeel sensed the end was near and soon after that landed a beautiful left hook to the head that dropped and finished Murray earning him a 2nd round KO victory.
Next up for USKA in a bout made at 65kg we had Ateeq Al-Rehman in his first ever fight go up against the talented and Unbeaten Jarrod Grant who was is 6-0 and one of the hottest prospects on the circuit.
Ateeq at just over two weeks notice had taken the fight for the experience and was not fazed in the slightest going up against the house fighter and more experienced Grant. After a back and forth closely contested contest over three rounds where both fighters had their moments the final bell rang with neither fighter knowing which way the decision was going to go.
The closest of decisions was announced in favor of Grant but the moral victory definitely lay with Ateeq showing that he has a bright future ahead of him.
