Wow, just Wow!
This evening USKA Kickboxing team hosted it's 3rd Annual Charity Fight Night at the USKA Fight Factory Gym.
Our Charity Project this year was to raise money for Orphans from all around the World including Palestine who are faced with some of the most difficult and horrendous situations in the modern day world right now.
The Project as always would be in the name and memory of our much missed and beloved students Khuzaimah Douglas and Azmat Yaqub.
We matched up 46 of our students from all the different classes at the gym to feature in 23 Non Decision Friendly Exhibition Bouts but give them the big fight feel of featuring on a Fight Night Poster, having their name announced by our dancing MC Winston 'Winnie' Nelson, experiencing the Ring Walk through the walk out tunnel, smoke and disco lights to their pre selected ring entrance music in front of family and friends and of course to take part in a contest under the lights with all eyes on them.
The Fight day took months of planning, preparation and practice and we couldn't be happier with how the event played out with it without doubt being our best event to date.
Fighters as young as 5 Years old from our USKA Ninja's classes, through to our technical students from our general and Female Division sessions stepped into the hot ring showcasing great skill that they had learned on their USKA Kickboxing classes to the awe of the crowd.
Many of our Fighters were taking part with absolutely zero competitive experience so to cope with the pressure we have to say they did exceptionally well.
Alongside the fights we were treated to one of the best demonstrations we have ever seen when Spider Boy (Ollie Cooke) took on the evil Ninja Kid (Zain Amer) in an amazing Super Hero fight scene spectacular.
The crowd were amazed and entertained by a demonstration that was put together in secret with just two and a half weeks practice.
Amazing job Ollie and Zain, you guys were nothing short of awesome!
The amazing production on the event went up a good few notches from last year and was kindly sponsored, supplied and managed by the incredible Jimmy Smith and his Movocast team.
The Walk Out Tunnel, the lights, the screens, the haze and the sound system was just perfect!
We can't thank you guys enough for the time and effort you put in to this years event, it was fantastic!
Our Dancing MC Winnie Nelson wowed the crowd with his skills and even made an cameo appearance in our Spider Boy Demonstration.
A huge thank you to Deeanne Lawrence, Aisha Azim and Ailbhe Beirne as event coordinators who put in so much time and effort behind the scenes to bring everything together and make the day so wonderful.
A big thank you to each and every fighter, spectator and contributor who simply speaking we could not have done it without and finally we would like to extend our gratitude to our amazing Coaches, Junior Coaches, Helpers and Clean Up Crew who gave up their time to make the day such a great success. You guys Rock!
It gives us great pleasure to announce that the evening raised an unbelievable £5,603.50 which will be added to our current total that takes us over £10,000.
We will be announcing our Charity partners for this year shortly before deciding where and how the funds will be distributed.
If anyone would still like to contribute you can make a donation you can do directly at the USKA Fight Factory gym.
364 days and we go again... Osu!
