We had another long but enjoyable day of Kickboxing competition today at the TMA Martial Arts Centre in Walsall at the latest BLCC Ring Light Continuous event.
USKA was in action with 18 fighters over 21 bouts including two title fights which kept Coaches Qasim Beg and Mushy Younis very busy indeed.
The USKA contingent of fighters consisted of Rayaan Ellahi, Amad Azim, Krystal Durham, Elijah Brown, Maryam Sarfraz, Isa Khan, Mateusz Klaczek, Esaa Shaikh, Julia Glowacz, Ahyan Rashid, Kaifah Imran, Ahsaan Mahmood, Nikita Raubiska, Idrees Yusuf, Ibraheem Mohammed, Rumaisa Mahmood, Sumayyah Mahmood and Ateeq Al Rehman.
We put in some very good performances across the board chalking up some valuable ring time and experience with all the fighters taking steps in the right direction.
In the days special attractions two of our girls were involved in title fights against solid and capable opposition over the five round title distance.
First up we seen Maryam 'The Storm' Sarfraz challenge for the BLCC -50kg English Title against Laila Featherstone from the TMKA Gym in Milton Keynes over 5 X 1 1/2 Minute Rounds.
It has to be said that Maryam was going into this fight the underdog having have lost to Laila on two previous occasions but was up for the challenge after putting in a great training camp.
Unfortunately Maryam came up short in an extremely close fight with the judges liking Laila's cleaner work over Maryam's volume and pressure.
Nevertheless, a great performance from Maryam and no complaints in the result and big congratulations to Laila and the TMKA Team on the victory.
Second up in title action we had Killah' Kaifah Imran challenge for the BLCC -50kg British Title against Sophie Emlyn from the LSK Gym in Telford over 5 X 2 minute Rounds.
In another very close affair the judges this time favoured the USKA girls work with Kaifah winning an well deserved Unanimous Points Decision.
All four girl performed excellently and showed that they were very worthy title challengers and Champions.
A big thank you to Gavin Burrows and his TMA Team on another great event and to the BLCC for a great circuit for our fighters to learn their craft on.
The next BLCC event will be held back at the Aero-Kick Gym in Birmingham on Sunday 24th March.
