19-04- 26 - Another Big Medal Haul For USKA At The ICO Welsh Open!
It was another away day for the USKA Fight Team today as we travelled to the 2nd leg of the 2026 ICO Four Nations Tournament Series at Swansea Leisure Centre in Swansea.
A team of seven USKA fighters made the long trip across to Wales to compete across multiple disciplines, both in the ring and on the mats, all aiming to add more medals to their growing 2026 Four Nations collection following our success at the ICO English Championships back in March.
Representing the team under the guidance of Chief Instructor Neil Kelly and Fight Coach Mushy Younis were Adam Mohammed, Daniel Kiss, Kevin Cojocaru, Rayaan Ellahi, Amad Azim, Julia Glowacz and Isa Khan.
As always, the team showed fantastic determination, discipline and fighting spirit throughout a very long day of competition. From early morning weigh ins through to the final bouts of the day, every fighter gave everything they had and represented USKA Fight Factory with pride.
The challenge was made even greater by the fact that a number of our fighters had moved up in both age and weight categories since the previous event, meaning they were facing older, bigger and more experienced opposition than before. In addition to this, several divisions were combined due to entry numbers, which resulted in some of our fighters having to compete above their natural weight categories. Despite these added challenges, the team rose to the occasion brilliantly and continued to perform at an exceptional level.
By the end of the tournament we had amassed an outstanding 27 medal haul made up of 16 Gold Medals, 10 Silvers and 1 Bronze, another fantastic achievement for the team and further proof that the hard work being put in week in, week out on the training mats in the gym is paying off.
Congratulations to all of our fighters on their performances and their spoils of victory.
Attention now turns to the next leg of the series at the ICO Scottish Open, which takes place on 22nd and 23rd August in Glasgow.
