On Saturday 19th August, USKA Fight Factory hosted it's 2nd Annual Charity Fight Night to raise funds for families in Syria who had lost their homes in the terrible Earthquakes earlier in the year.
Along side our Charity Partners at Jigsaw Charity UK we pledged as part of our Charity Project for the year to fund the building of 6 houses, these houses would be part of the 500 house build that make up the amazing Jigsaw Village 2.0.
The Project would be in the name and memory of our much missed and beloved students Khuzaimah Douglas and Azmat Yaqub.
We matched up 58 of our students from all the different classes at the gym to feature in 29 Non Decision Friendly Exhibition Bouts but give them the big fight feel of featuring on a Fight Night Poster, having their name announced by the MC, experiencing the Ring Walk through the smoke and disco lights to their pre selected ring entrance music in front of family and friends and of course to take part in a contest under the lights with all eyes on them.
The Fight day took months of planning, preparation and practice and we couldn't be happier with how the event played out.
Fighters as young as 4 Years old from our USKA Ninja's classes, through to our technical students from our general and Female Division sessions stepped into the hot ring showcasing great skill that they had learned on their USKA Kickboxing classes to the awe of the crowd.
Many of our Fighters were taking part with absolutely zero competitive experience so to cope with the pressure we have to say they did exceptionally well.
The amazing production for the event was kindly supplied and managed by Movocast which made this years event extra special with everyone commenting on how cool the room looked with the lights, screens and haze machines.
Thank you so much Jimmy and his Movocast Team, you guys are amazing!
We would like to also give a huge thank you to Deeanne Lawrence, Aisha Azim and Ailbhe Beirne as event coordinators who put in so much time and effort behind the scenes to bring everything together and make the day so wonderful.
A big thank you to each and every fighter, spectator and contributor who simply speaking we could not have done it without and finally we would like to extend our gratitude to our amazing Coaches, Junior Coaches, Helpers and Clean Up Crew who gave up their time to make the day such a great success.
It looks like our Charity Fundraising total has once again surpassed the £6000 mark that will almost certainly bring us to our £11,400 total (6 houses at £1900 each) but we will confirm this asap after all the money has been collected and collated.
