Another successful grading day is in the books at the USKA Fight Factory, with 35 students earning promotion and taking another important step forward on their martial arts journey.
Grades were awarded across the board, from Red Belt (1st Grade) all the way through to Brown Belt (9th Grade), following a long and demanding day of examinations.
Under the watchful eyes of Chief Instructor Neil Kelly and Club Instructor Sami Kelly, every student was assessed on the standards we expect to see at their respective level.
Stance, guard, technical ability, combinations, fitness and overall presentation were all put to the test, with students from Yellow Belt upwards also having to demonstrate their skills through controlled sparring.
At USKA, a belt has to be earned!
There are no shortcuts, and simply turning up on grading day is never a guarantee of promotion.
Including the pre-grading preparation class, our instructors spent an incredible seven and a half hours on the mats, with the final candidates completing their examinations at 6:30pm.
The weeks of preparation leading into today were there for everyone to see, with some excellent performances and plenty of improvement demonstrated throughout the grading.
⭐ SPECIAL RECOGNITION – A-STAR GRADERS
🥋 Noah Chau – White Belt – 91% (A-)
🥋 Haidar Khan – Purple Belt – 96% (A)
🥋 Isa Khan – Brown Belt – 93% (A-)
A massive congratulations to all 35 successful candidates.
Whatever colour belt you walked away with today, take pride in it. It represents the hours of training, practice, corrections and hard work that brought you to this point.
Unfortunately, not everybody reached the required pass mark on this occasion.
For those students, today isn't the end of the journey. It simply highlights the areas that need more work. Take the feedback away, make the necessary improvements, continue training hard and come back better prepared when you are ready to try again.
That is all part of progression.
And as we always say...
THE BELT CHANGES. THE STANDARD RISES.
A huge thank you also goes to our USKA instructors and coaches for the work that happens long before grading day. Their continued commitment to teaching, correcting, encouraging and preparing our students plays a massive part in maintaining the standards we expect at USKA.
Our next USKA General Grading takes place in December, when another group of students will have the opportunity to step onto the mats, put their training to the test and hopefully take that next step up the grading ladder.
Congratulations to everyone who earned promotion today.
Enjoy the achievement... then get ready to work towards the next one.
Onwards and upwards! 🥋
