19-10-23 - USKA Fight Team set off to weigh in at the ICO World Championships 2023
So our 8 boys and 3 girls travel to Hull today to weigh in for the ICO World Championships 2023.
Following months and months of hard work and dedication, blood, sweat and tears they will now attempt to cash that in for Gold Medals against some of the best fighters from around the World.
Our 11 fighters consisting of Elijah Brown, Zain Amer, Julia Glowacz, Maryam Sarfraz, Kaifah Imran, Ehsaan Mahmood, Nikita Raubiska, Muzaker Rehman, Shakeel Hussain, Ateeq Al Rehman and Mohammed Usman accompanied by coach Qasim Beg will compete in lots of different fighting disciplines over the next three days of competition and will need to be at their very best to prevail and get to stand in that Gold Medal position on the podium.
This truly is what dreams are made of for our fighters and we wish them the very best of luck in their quest in becoming World Champion.
In the main event on Sunday USKA's own Golden Boy Shakeel 'Showtime' Hussain will attempt to fulfil a lifetime ambition of becoming a Gala World Title Belt holder when he fights France's Slimnae Bouteiller for the -60kg Full Contact Amateur World Title.
Shakeel has remained Undefeated and has not put a foot wrong in his ring career so far winning Multi English, British and European Titles and we wish him the very best of luck in this his biggest challenge to date. God willing he will prevail and bring that belt back to Birmingham.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali once said 'Who's going to dare to be great'?... I can say without reservation... Each one of the USKA Fight Team, that's who!
Safe travels and safe competing to all of our Team, we know you will do your Country, USKA, yourselves and your families proud... Osu!
