20-02-25 - £400 Raised in Khuzaimah Douglas Charity Sparring Session!

Five years ago, we lost a very important and valued member of USKA Kickboxing in 19-year-old Khuzaimah Douglas.
Known as Zaymi to his teammates and friends, he was one of the most humble, considerate, and mature teenagers one could ever meet.
He always carried himself with respect, making him a big brother to all the USKA Juniors and a Little brother to all the USKA Seniors at the gym.
He was liked and loved by all, and his unexpected passing left an unfillable void at the USKA Fight Factory and in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

We vowed through charity to always remember Zaymi and in the last five years, have conducted many successful charity projects in his name including Orphan Sponsorship, House builds, Mosque Builds, Water Well constructions to name but a few.

Three years ago, we initiated a Charity one-hour Body Shot Boxing sparring session on the anniversary of Zaymi's passing.
Every year since, we have gathered at USKA to engage in what he loved most: sparring. This event allows both old and new members to meet up and train together in his memory and at the same time reminisce on the great times that they spent in Zaymi's company.

Tonight over 70 boxers physically pushed themselves to the limit and completed 60 x 1 minute rounds of non stop body shot boxing switching partners after evert 60 seconds.
The sparring was controlled and respectful with everyone sparring in the spirit it was intended.

The atmosphere in the room was great with boxers young and old, experienced and unexperienced all working together for a common goal.

We are ecstatic to announce that through donations of the participants we raised £400 that will go toward our Charity Project for this year of raising money for food distribution to the needy both here in the UK and away to where it is most needed abroad.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the event and contributed to the fund.

Please say a prayer for Zaymi and of course his family at this time for the strength to endure what is always going to be a very difficult period for them.
