22-03-26 - A Team Of 4 USKA Fight Team Fighters in Action at the AFSO 4 Nations Championships!

What a weekend for USKA!

We closed out a very busy few days of action by taking a team to the AFSO 4 Nations Championships at the North Solihull Leisure Centre in Birmingham, and once again, our fighters stepped up and delivered.

A tight, focused squad of 4 including Daniel Kiss, Kevin Cojocaru, Isa Khan and Julia Glowacz took on the challenge across multiple disciplines, competing both in the ring and on the mats.

In the corner, Chief Instructor Neil Kelly and Fight Coach Mushy Younis were on hand every step of the way, guiding the team through the highs and lows of competition.

Due to limited entries in certain categories, some of our fighters had to step up and compete in higher divisions just to get matched, a challenge they embraced without hesitation.

We also found ourselves in the unusual position of having teammates matched against each other, with two of our silver medals coming from all USKA finals. Never ideal, but a testament to the strength and depth within the team.

It was an enjoyable day of competition filled with close fights and fine margins. A few decisions didn’t fall our way, but that’s the nature of the sport, and part of the learning process.

By the end of the day, the team came away with a strong medal haul of 10 medals: 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze but more importantly, they walked away better, more experienced fighters.

Every member of the team showed heart, grit and true fighting spirit, representing USKA exactly how it should be done.

Massive respect to all of our instructors and coaches who have worked tirelessly across both gradings and competition this weekend,  your efforts never go unnoticed.
