Gloves... Check, Gumshield... Check, Last minute fights... Let's do it!

Three USKA Fighters had the call up at last minute this weekend to take fights against fighters who's opponents had pulled out on fight week.
Although it is always tricky mentally getting yourself up for a late notice fight, physically all our fighters were in great shape always keeping themselves ticking over and ready in the gym.

The fights were on the WKU sanctioned Battle of Knights show at the Secret Space venue in Digbeth, Birmingham

Boxing Rules Contest
Ollie Cooke Vs Mason Hawkesford (Undisputed Fight Academy)
With the fight being agreed with the USKA camp at 35kg and inexplicably no one informing the USKA Team that Hawkesford had weighed in at 37kg the fight went ahead.
In a close contest Hawkeford took a points decision.

K-1 Rules Contest
Julia Glowacz Vs Tallulah Tuckey (Hussars Fight Team)
With Julia losing the first round but coming back to win the second and third she claimed a points decision win.

K-1 Rules Contest
Mohammed Hamza Vs Tom Dunne (Gilmores Fight Team)
This was always going to be a tough ask for Hamza giving away over two years in age as well as experience but no guts, no glory.
Unfortunately it wasn't Hamza's night losing a Majority points decision

So not the results we were looking for tonight but taking lessons from the losses nevertheless in pursuit of improvement next time out.

Well done to all of our fighters for being brave enough to step in at the last minute to help out with the matches.
A big thank you to our USKA corner team of coaches Qasim Beg, Mushy Younis and corner assistant Kaifah Imran for looking after our fighters on the night and to everyone who purchased a late notice ticket, we appreciate you guys.
Finally a thank you to show promoters Rudy Robinson, Richard Todd and Colin Treasure for the stage to once again allow our fighters to showcase their skills.
