On Saturday 30th August, four dedicated fighters from the USKA Fight Factory accompanied by coaches Neil Kelly and Mushy Younis made the long trip north to Glasgow, Scotland, to take part in the 3rd Leg of the ICO Four Nations Tournament Series.
The team consisted of 9 year old Rayaan Ellahi, 14 Year Old Haidar Khan, 14 Year Old Julia Glowacz and 15 Year Old Isa Khan
Between them, they stepped up across a wide range of disciplines, including Full Contact, Light Contact, Ring Continuous Kick Light, K-1, K-1 Light and Boxing.
Our four fighters were looking forward to the opportunity to shake off the ring rust and test themselves again after some time away from the tournament scene.
With the understanding that “Scotland is a long way to go to lose”, each fighter had worked hard in training camp to arrive sharp, focused, and ready for action.
Following an exhausting day of competing and some exceptional performances we finished with an unbelievable tally of 18 medals including 16 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.
As a club we finished second on the medal table coming up short to only ICO Scotland.
Julia was named top female of the tournament with Rayaan and Isa tied for top male.
The team produced some fantastic performances against very strong opposition, showing the heart, skill and fighting spirit that USKA is known for.
This event marks another important step in building momentum, as we look to enter more open tournaments in the near future and growing the Fight Team by continuing to produce the next Generation of Champions. After all, that's what we do and God Willing will continue to do for a long time to come.
Well done to Rayaan, Haidar, Julia, Isa, and of course Coaches Neil and Mushy for doing us proud in Scotland.
